"The devotions this year on being a servant leader were excellent. It seemed like every time the Word of God was opened, God was doing construction on my heart, tearing out what needed to be removed, and showing me how I needed to be more like Him. One thing I learned both from devotions and everyday interaction with the team was becoming a patient leader and servant means growing together; it means understanding that God is at work not only in the other person's life, but in mine as well. These two weeks challenged me on how I am representing Christ and how I am being a servant leader."

"I had the blessing of assisting the Service Adventure twice before, and this was the most exciting! God gave me the opportunity to serve in a very poor place of my country, which was a hard experience, but at the same time, it was very encouraging. I learned to live (at least for a week) as many people have to live in the real world, without all the stuff that makes life easier. As young people we always want to be seen. Even when we serve God, we are waiting to receive something for doing it. But God taught me that the true treasures and the true blessings aren't the visible things. It does not matter if the people of your church consider you a good Christian or "spiritual." It does not matter if you receive something in this world for being a servant. That is completely empty; that's just appearance. The only work worthy of praise is the work GOD is doing right inside my heart, and the only one that has to be pleased with my service is Him."

"The Service Adventure was a time of blessing and challenge to my life. One of the things that God taught me during this time was that my life is not about me, but about Him, and to make Him the center of my life. Also I learned to serve and not to be served. I enjoyed everything on this Service Adventure, and it is going to be a part of my life that I will never forget. I also pray that I do not forget what He has taught me through this wonderful time!"

"I really enjoyed the Service Adventure because I learned a lot. I learned that it definitely is better to give than to receive. I count it a privilege that God would allow me to be used in such a great ministry to bless other people and further His Kingdom. I also learned that wherever I am at and whatever the situation is, I should be content. Rather than complaining about the things that I didn't have in Mexico that I do in America, I learned to be thankful for what we had and for the ability to work and take care of ourselves."

"When I arrived in Guadalajara I said, ‘God, just help me to show You through my actions,’ not thinking that I would receive something from Him! I learned to have a burning heart to serve God, how to use my talents for Him, and to have a passion for serving others! This Service Adventure has marked my life. I want to carry His Light, no matter how far, no matter how hard it will be. My daily prayer is, 'I want to do Your will, I want to live for You, and the rest of my life I will seek Your face'."
